As you’ve probably guessed by now while browsing around my lessons site, all my video tutorials are completely free. Now obviously I don’t want you to feel guilty for using this site without contributing (I myself have been a poor student in the past, lol) but, if you can afford to donate please do as it gives me ability to keep adding to this ever growing resource for you. It takes a lot of time and effort to create an educational tool like this, so any help you can give me is gladly welcome.
What will you get when you donate?
Any donation over $20 gets you the PDF files for every lesson on this site at the time of your donation. This means you’ll have lesson materials in TAB and notation that you can use as a reference forever alongside the video tutorials!
How can you donate/support Scott’s bass lessons?
Simple, just click on the ‘Make A Donation’ button found in the side bar of most pages. By doing so it will take you straight to PayPal which is the most secure online payment system.
Don’t have a PayPal account?
No problem! I’ve received quite a lot of emails asking me why I don’t allow payments by credit card… Well, I DO, actually: PayPal makes it possible to pay with most credit cards! The ‘Continue’ link is at the bottom of PayPal’s page and looks like this:

Greetings,
Great lesson!
Keep up the good work!
Hey Don i’ve sent you an email with the pdf’s attached. Easy. S.
Hi Scott, great site.
Hi Scott,
Great tutorials best on the web but I expect youv’e heard that loads of times.
I’ve donated, will I get a link to allow access to the pdf’s?
Second point- As a novice it is tricky to decide the order to tacle your lessons in. Is there a set syllabus so that each lesson builds on a previous one as such or is it a case of treating each tutorial as a point of interest and simply diving in and trying to absorb the info that way?
Hey David, thanks so much for donating! I’ve mailed you the link for the pdf’s.
I totally understand where you’re coming from on the second point. I’m actually in the middle of putting something together to combat this, so soon enough you’ll be able to have a more constructed study path. In the meantime… start with learning your arpeggios/chord tones as well as you can. This will give you a great foundation to build from. Ez. Scott.
Hi Scott and Merry Christmas,
Yesterday I found your site on the net. If it really is as good as it seems it is outstanding. I’ve only had time to look at some of the material.
Br,

Hey Peter thanks for checking out my site! The donation only includes the tutorials that exist at the time of donation. Any future tutorials require another donation. I will be doing some slap stuff in the future so maybe wait until then to donate. Thanks for checking out my website! S.
Hey Scott,
Just spoke to Chris at Overwater and got my order in for a Signature. Will be the first time on a high C for me. Lets hope I can do it justice :-)
Thanks for the video lessons, its great to see rudiments of music still being taught in an understandable manner. I learned Bass years ago by ear and now am re-learning all the things I never got my head around correctly. Put a donation your way, so if you let me have the pdf’s would be fantastic.
Hey Andy, great to hear your getting an Overwater… they’re a fantastic basses made truly ‘by hand’. I’ve sent over the pdf’s so have a great Christmas in the shed lol! Ez. Scott.
Hey I just donated as well how do I obtain the PDF sheets?
I’ve just sent them over to you Diego. Have a great day! Scott.
Thanks Scott cant wait to jump in and learn. Happy New Years!
Hey Scott, thanks for your great tutorials, you really pushed me to practice on a regular basis again! Now I try to dive into the different modes and get my mind and finger sorted. :) But I’m not sure about the fingering in each mode (3 fingerings per mode – 1./2./4. finger?). Have you written that down in your PDFs? I just donated, would be great to get your PDFs!
Thanks a lot for your great work, Flo
Hey Florian I sent you the pdf’s. They do include the fingerings etc. Ez man. Scott.
Hi Scott,
My donation’s just on its way; looking forward to your e-mail ;-)
Thanks for your great work !
Cheers man.
Hey cheers man! The PDF’s are on there way! Scott.
Hi Scott,
Just donated. When should I expect the link for the PDFs?
Thank You,
Bill
I sent them over Bill… Enjoy your time in the shed! Ez, Scott.
Hello Scott. I came across your bass lessons by accident and when I’ve watched 2 or 3 of them I was speakless. That is amazing job mate. Your simple and, at the same time effective way of explanation is just great. I may call myself beginner on the jazz bass field but couple of your tips pushed me miles ahead. I’m so happy to see the progress. It’s very motivating and promising. Had no doubts to donate your work. Keep it going please and thanks for help.
Hi Scott, I have just come across your great website. Well impressed with your teaching style in the videos. You clearly enjoy teaching others about something you truly love. The ‘modes’ lessons are really useful – something that makes sense at last! Can’t wait to get stuck-in. Do you play fretless/have any intention of adding such lessons?
Donation coming your way (with pleasure).
YOU ARE A BLOODY GENIUS (sorry for shouting) but you have changed my bass playing life forever you are the first person of the many so called experts online that have joined the dots for me, so to speak, at last its all beginning to make sense. It not just your great playing, but the brilliant way that you explain stuff especially for me, the use of substitutions and using sixths to change majors to minors in terms of patterns. this information alone has changed the way i think about approaching bass line construction etc
a big thanks and respect. you have just won a new fan and time allowing i will be using your lesson from here on in.
Hi Scott
Is it so that making a donation only gets me access to the pdf material available at that time, i.e: not future material.
I have donated earlier and was interested in the Donna Lee transcript but don’t seem to be able get the full version.

Hello Scott,
First I must say as a school band director of 39 years, your teaching style is simply wonderful! Now that I am semi-retired, it is time to get serious about my bass playing and your lessons and methods will be a great tool toward my next musical goals.
Hi Scott,
Thanks for everything you do for us!

Hi Scott
I recently, rather intuitively, made the swith from playing guitar to playing bass. I’m starting to get the feeling that bass is more ‘my thing’.
Thanks for all of the great lessons you share with us, you really have a gift for teaching.
Have a nice weekend.
Cheers

Hi Scott,
Never saw such an effective way to improve my bass playing, the lessons are very clear and easy to understand.
Just purchased the play-along bundle and made another donation for the pdf’s of the online lessons.
Can`t wait for the pdf`s to start from scratch.
Keep up the good work !!

Why Donate?
OMG – people be real
there’s about 3 years of lessons and a life time of work on this site.
Like everyone else, i wish i found / had this site about 10 years ago.
Thanks so much for the site – Now i have to “get to the shed”?
As for donating, it will more than a one-time exercise for me……
Again, thanks so much………….

Scott, may God continue to bless your business and your life! I have viewed several of your lessons. I am blown away by the ease of understanding that comes across in your lessons! I play Contemporary Gospel music in church. This is a primarily play by ear musical situation where many times your are asked to play a song on the spot that you have never heard, and are expected to “pick it up’ in several seconds. As you can imagine this can be frustrating at times. However, I make it through ok. I am just learning to read music. It is tough at my age (52) to find the time to really study the music. Just wanted to drop a line and say THANK YOU! Will say more later. Will be making a donation soon. God bless you.
Much Respect,

Hi scott, great lessions, I really like like the way you exp[ain things in your lessions. I have checked out other bass tutorials, but youre is the best. not able to give donation today but will give soon. keep up the good work.
hey scott,
I saw up top where the caption said that for a donation of 20 dollars or more I get all you tabs and lesson pdf. is that accurate, also I want to order all of you bass track dvd series. Is that considered a donation. and lastly, I love your site. I am so glad to find a website that will teach me what I need to know for free ( i have a full time job with a family so money it tight) and just ask for a donation instead of bombarding my email with continuous emails about new “bass academys” and other hoky crap. Thanks man, Your the best.
Yep that’s it man – just a donation of $20 and it gets you all the worksheets for the entire site… there’s a lot of them ;)
Hey Scott.
Thanks for putting together this great website, as a beginner I find the video tutorials very straightforward and easy to follow, and I’m looking forward to having the PDFs to go along as well.
Thanks again,
Brandon
Scott I thought I had been playing bass since the “60′s. After ploddiing through what was available at the time, 47 years later I have found you….what an enlightenment.
Hey Scott,
very great site and very very very great lessons. The way you bring over the exercises are really awesome.
Your videos are the perfect example of how bass exercises should be on the Internet.
Please do keep it up.
Many Many Many greetings from Germany
Joe
Hi Scott
I started playing bass in my teens which was some time ago and I only wish the internet and your site was up and running then as your teaching is so straight forward and easy to understand that even a born again bass player like me can get used to.

Cheers

Great job, Scott. Thanks a million. I just made my donation. Will you be emailing me the link to the PDFs?
HI Mate
I used to be a gig’ing bass player and I have not picked up my bass for 20 years until I came across your site. Your lessons are FANTASTIC and have inspired me to start playing again. I am no way as good as I used to be as i am now disabled and have arthritis in my hands. However your style of teaching is helping me a lot and the movement in my hands is improving so for this i am going to give you $30 or £19.44, i would give you more but i am on a pension.
I hope you and your loved ones get everything you wish for in life! Peace Brother!!
regards
