Faculty Spotlight: Adam Neely

Published December 11, 2017 in Notes

In this month’s faculty spotlight we salute the mind-blowing and musically curious Adam Neely.

Playing bass is a unique challenge. On the one hand, the fundamental principles are essentially set in stone. On the other hand, the nature of the instrument demands some level of innovation. It’s a fine balance, and not an easy one. Especially when not everyone has the same opportunities when it comes to bass education. That’s where the incredible teaching faculty that we’ve assembled here at SBL really comes into its own. Featuring some of the greatest bass players on the planet, it’s here to provide you with a unique opportunity to interact, study and learn from some truly unbelievable educators, all from the comfort of your living room sofa! Today I want to introduce you to our newest member, the amazing Adam Neely…

Listening to Adam play, it’s easy to figure out why he’s become so widely praised. He's got the technical skills, but that's not what makes him such a talent. First off, you know that his bass sounds exactly the way he wants it to, both live and on record. Second, Adam doesn’t merely play a note, he places it precisely where he means to.

I’m so thrilled to be releasing Adam’s new course into the SBL academy; Decoding The Low End. It’s going to give you the chance to learn some trailblazing ideas geared towards the needs of today's professional musician. Ready to find out more? Here’s some more awesome video for you…
