Today we’re back with Episode 3 of our Bass Tales series featuring David Ellefson, legendary co-founder and bassist of iconic 'Big 4' thrash metal titans Megadeth, and one of the best metal bassists ever to shred on a stage.
In this week's video David invited us to his home in Arizona for a guided tour of his personal bass collection, including what we believe to be one of the first 5-string basses to ever be used in a metal band (and on a groundbreaking metal album). This bass couldn’t be more heavy metal if it tried.
