In Conversation with Dishan Abrahams - Doing What's Right for the Gig

September 19, 2016

About This Episode

In today’s podcast we meet the bass player for pop sensation Kylie Minogue.

Dishan Abrahams is the sort of bassist whose playing can often go unnoticed, blending in smoothly while providing a solid musical link between the vocals and the rest of the band. His performances on stage with Kylie Minogue and Leona Lewis have drawn praise for their professionalism and for his command of his live sound, which he delivers via his Aguilar backline, Moog Little Phatty and his stock of Music Man and vintage Fender basses. "I'm there to do what’s right for the artist and the material," says Dishan. "You don’t always need to recreate what's on the record, but you want to be in the right ballpark stylistically, and then make the right choices."
