In Conversation with Ian Stewart - A Rhythmic Approach

July 18, 2016

About This Episode

In today’s podcast we’re talking to Ian Stewart about delving deeper into the world of Timba and Cuban Jazz.

In case anyone still thought that there was an ‘easy’ route into Latin music, then any amount of corporate brick walls built right across your intended path should convince you otherwise, even if you possess the ridiculous amount of talent and experience of bassist Ian Stewart.

Some of Ian’s best known projects to date have seen him perform alongside the likes of Gerardo Contino, Gabriela Anders, Los Hacheros and countless other greats from the Latin music scene. From his early days amid Chicago’s Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble, to his partnership with MoonJune Records artists, Marbin, Ian is a bassist well travelled.
