Welcome back to Creative Tapping for Electric Bass with Charles Berthoud. This is the second part in our series, which focuses on some of the tapping techniques pioneered by the likes of Billy Sheehan, Stuart Hamm and Victor Wooten. It’s a technique that requires you to use both hands independently; to tap notes directly on the fretboard to create harmonically and rhythmically more adventurous lines.

The aim of this course is to build on some of the ideas covered in Part 1, as well as provide you with additional exercises to help skyrocket your technique. The final lesson comprises a study piece that will give you the opportunity to put everything you have learned so far to use. This is where it all comes together.

In Part 1 you will have taken your first steps. Now it’s time to build on that foundation and put some of these new ideas into practice.
