In Conversation with Kevin Scott - Forq

About this episode

Today’s interview with Kevin Scott is one of our greatest of all time! Or at least, that’s how I remembered it. ;-)

Born and raised in Dothan, Alabama, Kevin Scott’s career began in high school as the bassist in his father’s bluegrass band. When he heared Colonel Bruce Hampton for the first time, Kevin switched focus to Hampton’s base of operations in Atlanta, and eventually joined his band in 2009. As an in-demand studio musician, Kevin has worked in some of Atlanta’s biggest and best studios including ZAC Recording, Diamond Street Studios and Southern Tracks. Highlights include stints with Elektrik Butterfly, Avalanche of Worms and Ambition by hip-hop artist Wale, which reached #1 on the Billboard hip-hop and rap charts. In 2016 Kevin made his debut with Wayne Krantz’s trio at the revered 55 Bar in New York City, which is where we found him on fine form with instrumental quartet, FORQ.
