Justin Raines

Justin Raines is a world renowned electric bassist and teacher. He is currently the bass player for six time Grammy award winning artist Israel Houghton and Grammy award winning pop star Ne-Yo. Justin plays and has played with Pastor William McDowell, Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Donnie McClurkin, Musiq Souchild, JoJo, CeCe Winans, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kierra “KiKi” Sheard, Martha Munizzi and many other gospel/christian artists.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Justin started playing bass in the 10th grade. He attended the Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts. Being a multi-instrumentalist, Justin also plays trumpet, piano and drums. Growing up in Pittsburgh jump started the love for music and learning. Pittsburgh is where he learned the basic foundation of music. After high school he attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
