Rich Brown

Rich Brown has been an active member of Toronto’s music scene since 1992. He currently leads his own band, The Abeng, and his latest album was nominated for a Juno award for Album of the Year. Rich has performed with some of the finest musicians in the world including Donny McCaslin’s Casting for Gravity, Vijay Iyer, Dapp Theory, Steve Coleman & 5 Elements, James “Blood” Ulmer, Vernon Reid and Bruce Cockburn to name a few. He also appeared in the feature film “Glitter” starring Mariah Carey and the made for TV movie “The Natalie Cole Story” starring Natalie Cole. He's released 3 albums as a leader, and currently tours with New York-based saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa.
