Simon Peter King

Simon Peter King is an accomplished bassist, composer, multi-instrumentalist and educator, widely regarded for his expertise in jazz, improvisation, and musical versatility. With a career spanning over two decades, Simon has performed with a variety of acclaimed artists and ensembles, ranging from Randy Brecker, David Binney, Gergo Borlai, Scott Kinsey, to touring acts such as The Drifters, Jane McDonald and The Searchers.

A graduate of the Leeds College Of Music, Simon has combined performance experience with years of refining theoretical studies, to develop a pragmatic and systematic method for helping students achieve their goals on their instrument. His ability to simplify complex musical concepts has made him a sought-after mentor for bassists of all levels.

Simon is currently Head of Coaching at Scott’s Bass Lessons, leading an international team of expert bass educators which deliver world class bass resources.In 2023 Simon released a debut fusion album in collaboration with Scott Devine entitled The Devine King Project.
Beyond music, Simon is an award-winning landscape photographer and film maker, and was a Michelin listed chef-patron.
