Articulations: Slides & Slurs

Articulations are different nuances that you can use to affect a note, either by the way the note begins and ends, or ways to connect notes into phrases.

They are truly the secret sauce that can make a bass line truly come alive, either lending a more ‘vocal’ quality to a phrase, or by making it short and punchy.

So in this group of lessons we’re going to explore three of the most common—and certainly most useful—articulations that you can add to your bass lines: slides, and hammer-on and pull-off slurs.
