Eighth-Note Ties & 1st and 2nd Time Repeats
Summary
In this next group of three lessons, we’ll focus on ties. This is a concept first introduced in the final course of Level 01, but now we’re going to dig a little deeper and see how ties are used to create syncopation, and add rhythmic interest to bass lines.
Then Ian will apply this knowledge to two new practice songs. One in the style of the verse section of “Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding, and the other inspired by “Man on the Moon” by R.E.M.
