Quarter Notes & Moving Across Strings
Summary
In this group of three short lessons, instructor Ian Martin Allison is going to introduce you to reading your first basic rhythm—the quarter note.
This is the rhythm that ALL OTHERS are built upon, and through this course we’ll put the quarter note into action by learning to play two new songs. The first is inspired by U2’s “With or Without You” and the second is a song that’s a little faster and more rock ‘n’ roll, and gives you the chance to support a killer rock guitar solo.
By the end of this course, you’ll be way more comfortable playing to a beat, combining your plucking and fretting hand technique, and moving across strings to get all of the elements of basic playing together.
