The Major Scale & Triads

Scales. You might love ‘em, you might hate ‘em, you might not even know what one is, but there is none more important than the major scale. The major scale is often the first scale people learn on any instrument—with good reason—and this course will follow in that tradition. The major scale is the foundation for bass lines, melodies, and for every other scale that comes after. Learning and understanding the major scale will become a key part of understanding music in general.

So, in this course we’re going to tackle major scales, how to construct them, how to understand them in basic terms, and apply the scale to a few musical examples.

In addition, we’ll also show their relation to another important concept: triads.
