Garage music is a style that evolved in the 1990s and early-2000s from a mix of house, or club music, and soul. Although it’s known as a sub-genre of electronica, it became influential to bands like Jamiroquai and others, who took these beats and basslines and developed them in a live setting. The tune “Garage Fire” is loosely based on this style, and will give you a rhythmic workout, with advanced, syncopated 16th-note rhythms, grace-note slurs, palm muting techniques, and more. And towards the end, we even get into a full-on, space-disco groove!
