BRAZIL - The new capital of the bass world?
6/6/2020
A few years back I caught a crazy video on YouTube of a 13 year old kid tearing it up on bass. I didn’t even know who he was at the time, but I was completely blown away. I later found out that his name was Michael Pipoquinha and that he was from Brazil.
Most people might only know Brazil for samba or The Girl from Ipanema, but that's only a fraction of the story. Brazilian music is a whole world of its own with some unbelievable bass players that everyone needs to know about!
In this video we’re shining the spotlight on 10 AMAZING bassists from Brazil.
You’re going to learn:
- All about the ‘Brazilian Jaco’.
- And the first time I heard Munir Hossn.
- Why Glecio Nascimento is one of the scariest players on the planet right now.
- And why I need a pass on some of the pronunciation!

As always, see you in the shed…
